Welcome Martial Arts for Seniors

Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan is a traditional Korean Martial Art. It roots can be traced back over 2000 years to the arts of Soo Bahk Ki and Tae Kyun. These were combined with fighting principles of Northern and Southern Chinese Kung Fu and moral guidelines such as the philosophy of Do (Tao), No Ja (Lao Tzu) and Lee Do Ja (Confucius) by Grandmaster Hwang Kee into what is now known as Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan. This combination of techniques and philosophy resulted in the development of a form of self-defence and mental conditioning unrivalled in the modern world.

Consistent training leads to improvement not only in physical ability, such as flexibility, strength, stamina and speed, but also mental focus and application of will. These benefits develop a sense of calm and quiet confidence in the practitioner. Its founder Grandmaster Hwang Kee emphasises ‘The purpose of training should be the enhancement of the mental and physical self.’

Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan is now offering martial arts classes specifically tailored to the over 55’s.
